The Orange County Jewish Coalition for refugees is a group of individuals, synagogues, and Jewish communal organizations inspired by our people’s history to support refugees locally and worldwide. OCJCR is a signatory to the HIAS Welcome Campaign: a network of 400+ congregations and organizations across the United States who are responding to the largest refugee crisis in human history. The Refugee Action Fund mobilizes philanthropic giving to help refugees and other forcibly displaced people achieve safety, dignity and opportunities to live productive lives. Through strategic grantmaking, we support innovative organizations that help forcibly displaced people meet their immediate needs, access comprehensive legal services, integrate into their new communities, and thrive. Home for Refugees USA seeks to establish collaborative relationships between faith groups and community groups and refugee families in order for refugees to achieve a sense of feeling at home in their new communities. Our purpose is to offer support to help relieve the tragedy of displacement and loss for families and individuals having to leave a place they once called home, and help them regain independent and self-sufficient living as they create their new home in the United States.  Read more here.

Friends of Orange County detainees is a community of volunteers that offers regular visits to immigration detainees in Orange County. They offer listening ears and compassionate hearts in an act of friendship to end isolation, and affirm each person’s human dignity and worth. Read more here.
